For much of my forty-year career, I have guided high performing families through difficult conversations that are essential to accelerate harmony, unity and wealth continuity.

One critical discussion is now upon us—the passage of 100+ trillion dollars to the next generation.  As you have probably heard, that amount or more will be handed down to Gen X and millennials over the next twenty years.

The inheritance question is one of the most challenging decisions facing successful families.  Mix legacy with philanthropy, fairness with equality, expectation with disappointment, motivation with sloth and you have a head spinning set of decisions facing baby boomer parents.

If those issues weren’t enough, add in-law concerns, tax and estate planning issues, investment strategies, family business continuity and an unpredictable health and mortality timetable to the decision.

In response, I have launched THE INHERITANCE PROJECT, a comprehensive, confidential advisory to help families meet this challenge.  After guiding hundreds of conversations, I ask the questions that structure decisions, share optimal outcomes and build a foundation for the successful passage of family wealth from generation to generation.
